Help!
I am seeing no settings for Video Compression, CBR/VBR control.
I am seeing no Audio options - what codec is used? It cannot be Dolby Digital, as there is no DD codec installed, so I deduce it MUST be LPCM. This is a waste of disc space for a lot of people.
It cannot, surely, be MPEG Audio!
This is an optional format, and any NTSC or even PAL discs created exclusively with MPEG audio are so far out of spec as to be unplayable on over 75% of US machines, where MPEG Audio was always optional. In PAL countries MPEG was mandatory until around 18 months ago or so (may be longer now) when it was downgraded to an optional codec.
ALL NTSC DVD must use LPCM or Dolby Digital.
What is going on? |

As GEAR Video 9 is designed for basic consumers, part of the design philosophy is to refrain from offering full control and many choices and allow the user to quickly and easily create a DVD-Video disc or DivX Ultra file which will be 99% compatible with all players on the market.
Today, GEAR Video 9 uses PCM audio on it's disc which provides full compatability with all DVD players. Other audio codecs will be supported in future releases. |
