Does Gear DVD 6 support subject media?

I use NEC 3500A DVD-RW device and trying to use Gear DVD for burning of DL DVD image prepared in Sonic Scenarist. When I try to open image file, Gear asks me to enter volume capacity (defaul value is 509). If I say 509, Gear reports couple errors and refuses to continue. If I say 922, nothing happens and the same window appears again and again .

There are two options: either Gear does not work with DL DVD+R, or I do something wrong. Please confirm which one is right and correct my mistakes if any.
