Can't Install Gears Drivers

After doing some research it appears that ERROR_BAD_ENVIRONMENT can indicate that one or more system DLL files may be corrupt.

Running the System File Checker can resolve this.

Note that you may need your original OS installation disc(s) for the System File Checker to repair damaged files.

After you have run the System File Checker, uninstall the GEARAspi driver installer, reboot the system and run the GEARAspi driver installer again.

After running the System File Checker it did report some errors were found and fixed. I then followed your instructions and iTunes is still opening up without any error messages. ImgBurn (since reinstalled on my system) also detects my optical drive without issue, as does Windows Explorer.

Device Manager likewise detects the drive, and shows GEARAspiWDM within its UpperFilters.

I looked in Windows Event Viewer, and according to it Gears installed successfully without any additional notice.

It looks like running the File System Checker is another way to resolve this issue.
