Writing problem with Gear

Hi there
I am using Gear DVD 6.05 for the first time. Running Win 2000 SP4 with a NECDVD 2500 burner which is in your supported list. I have the latest (as of yesterday) drivers from Gear and from NEC. Gear will erase and/or format a DVD-RWfor me but....

When I try to write a DVD Video the program hangs and will not respond. In case I was rushing I did leave the machine, but after an hour still no response. No error messages appear, just nothing happens.

What diagnostics do you suggest? I have not found any reference to this elsewhere so please advise.

Can you explain what you are doing step by step?

Have you used GEAR to write any titles at all to this drive?

Are you writing to DVD-RW? If so, try doing a quick format, then an erase, then writing to the disc.

Do you happen to have a list of DVD Drives supported by Gear or do you know where I can get a copy of the list.

Thanks for the reply.

I visited the site you listed before and it cannot find my DVD drive.

Back in January 2005, Gear posted a list of supported DVD Drives and my DVD drive was on this list. Now when I enter the make & model number they cannot find it.

That's why I was looking for the list of supported DVD drives.
