I recently add the latest and greatest config files from folder GEARwrks351 and that didn't change the fact that Ghost 9 with latest update fails to burn to my CD RW. It's a BUSLink RW4848FE.
I can write to it with every known conceivable software program but host 9. I have read through other posts here and am of the distinct impression that either Ghost 9 or the GEARwrks config files don't do the job. I know your working in conjunction with Symantec, but some of these posts are dating back to November.
Is Ghost 9 just flawed in the department of burning to a CD RW?
Secondly, I noticed on your site http://www.gearsoftware.com/support/recorders/index.cfm that the NEW Sony DRX 710 UL/T is supported? Yet, I just read a post saying dual layer isn't yet supported by Gear?
What is the truth about your stating support and then backing down in this forum and stating it isn't supported yet?? I'm very confused??

mahonri,
If you have downloaded the latest drivers and configuration files from GEAR and the error persists, you will need to contact Symantec regarding your issue.
In regards to support of the Sony DRX 710, GEAR supports all of the features of the current version of GEAR. Unfortunately, double layer writing is not a current feature. This feature will be added in the next release, 7.0. |

mahonri,
Let me clarify a bit further. Your assessment that GEAR "stated support and then backed down" is not accurate. We support this drive. The GEARWorks engine, licensed by many companies, supports double-layer burning. GEAR's own DVD Burning applications do not support double-layer burning in the current releases (version 6.05). We will have new releases that support double-layer burning in the very near future. |
