Would it be possible to add ripping with Gear to the action list of the autoload properties tab on a cd/dvd drive.
SOME OTHER applications do this already. (edited)

I always have Autoplay/Autorun firmly disabled.
Anything that might switch this back on again is to be avoided, as it's too easy to end up with nasty Back-Door Rootkits and other such crap in the system.....
NEVER have autoplay enabled if you use Audio CD's in your machine. One day, the CP will install and you'll be really sorry.

Fair comment.
I have seen far too many systems screwed over by autorun installers to be confident that it is safe on my production workstation though.
A restore from backup avoided is one I don't have to do at all, if you get my drift.
Any downtime is a disaster.
Autorun will remain off here as I don't need the hassle.
Still, horses for courses. |
