In the driver details list GearAspiWDM.sys is listed.
I don't own and Gear software per say - so I don't knowwhere this would have come from.
I use another burning application DVD Copy for burning DVD movies/TV Recordings.
Lap Top is shipped with Sonic RecordNow! Basic.
There is a second Aspi driver as well from Inter Video Inc. (also shipped with the lap top) iviaspi.sys.
I am getting a transcode error at the end of burning a DVD, after the software says writing completed succesfully, then there is "transcoding error 0x15240001" and the disc is a coaster.
1. Any ideas as to where the GEAR driver came from? (another burning application?)
2. Should I remove the Inter Video Aspi? Is this potentially a conflict?
I can't find anything else on this DVD drive as far as firmware or driver updates. Had been working fine a while ago, and now every disc is a transcoding error. (tried 3 different discs -R and +R).
There is also a pfc.sys listed from Padus Inc. I have not researched yet.
Thank you for any help - advice - input you can offer.

Do you have iTunes, or Norton Ghost installed at all?
There are several applications that use a GEAR burning engine, but for the life of me I cannot remember them all though.
What is truly odd is where you say it was all working well, and now it isn't.
Have you installed any other software since then at all? Something must have changed. |
