GEAR can make an exact copy of a disc that is not copy-protected.

Many people use GEAR products to create a reserve or backup copy of materials that are on CD and DVD. However, GEAR products do not circumvent or otherwise overcome copy protection schemes that are part of replicated DVD and CD discs, so creating back up copies of content-protected discs is not possible using GEAR.
