Convert .ISO Images Without Having To Burn A Disc

GEAR Software allows you to convert .ISO images without having to burn a disc first. You can use the GUI interface, the GEAR command lines or use a GEAR Batch File to combine the steps in the command line structure.

GUI

1. Select File >> Open Physical Image [Existing Disc Image file] - depending on GEAR version)
2. Select your ISO image file
3. Make selection for what kind of image this is:
File:external_image_parameters.png

NOTE: If this is a DVD-Video title you will not be able to flag the DDP image for CSS encryption

4. Click [OK]
5. Select Mastering >> Convert GEAR Project to DDP image:
File:convert_gear_project_to_ddp_image.png

Using GEAR Commands

1. Select File >> Run GEAR Commend --> SETTAPEDEFAULTS TAPEINTERFACE 0 [execute]
2. Select File >> Run GEAR Command --> INITTAPE [execute]
3. Select File >> Run GEAR Command --> WRITEDDPDIR –d <output_directory> -ext <image type> | <volume_name>

GEAR Batch File

1. Combine the three GEAR Commands above in a GEAR Batch File

NOTES

You can hand any properly formatted file to GEAR and it can make the ddp, save, burn or transfer it via FTP. It does not transcode. And again, if this is a DVD-Video title you will not be able to flag the DDP image for CSS encryption.
