GEAR Software has a proud history of supporting the latest developments in CD and DVD technology on various operating system platforms. With the new GEAR PRO Unix, the list of supported recorders is very up to date. A new automatic drive detection feature provides support for new CD/DVD drives without applying patches or driver updates. GEAR automatically obtains the supported features from the drive, if available, and the method for adding support for new recorders has been greatly improved.

This version of GEAR PRO Unix supports IDE-SCSI converter cards, like the GEAR PRO Unix INTERFACE CARD that you can obtain through GEAR Software. With the GEAR PRO Unix INTERFACE CARD, connect CD and DVD recording devices with an IDE/Atapi interface to SCSI-only machines. Use the full power of GEAR PRO UNIX on the latest CD and DVD drives. GEAR PRO UNIX and the GEAR PRO Unix INTERFACE CARD support the following types of IDE drives: CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD+RW/+R and DVD-RAM.
