Updating to Latest Configuration Files

Definition:

The configuration files reference the drivers used in GEAR's API. They reference recorder support as well, so if you install the wrong driver set it is possible, your recorders won't even show up in GEAR.


To update the configuration files:

  1. Click 'Start'
  2. Click on 'Search'
  3. Search for any of the following files:
    • gcdrdll.cfg
    • gcdroem.cfg
    • gcdrtype.dll
  4. Write down the path of where that file was found.
  5. Go to ftp://downloads.gearsoftware.com/updates/windows/recorders/ for the latest configuration files. Please read the readme.txt to know what version you are on.
  6. From there, you can download and save the configuration files to the path that has the original configuration files in.
